Position of the body upon discovery

The deceased is a male, 44 years of age, who has been identified as Dwight Smith.

The body was first examined at the scene of discovery at 6:00 AM on Sunday, June 24, 2012, in a pond in Faron Woods, located in Twinbrook. At this time, the body was fully clothed in hiking gear and lying in a shallow pond on its stomach, with the face partially submerged in water. The right arm is stretched above the head with the elbow at a 90 degree angle. The left arm is at the side of the body. Both legs were lying straight. Livor mortis is seen in the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and legs. Pupils are undilated. Slight rigor mortis is seen in the face, arms, and legs. Liver temperature was 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

External Examination

The body is approximately 197 pounds and approximately 5 feet 10 inches. The hair is brown. The eyes are brown. The pupils are round, regular, and equal. The nasal and oral cavities There is a large contusion on the forehead, accompanied by one abraision. The contusion is approximately 7 cm in diameter. The abrasion is 2 centimeters in diameter. There is a scrape on the palm of the right hand about 3 cm in diameter. There are abrasions on the left and right knees. The left knee has an abrasion 4 cm in diameter, and the right knee has an abrasion 3 cm in diameter. The large toe on the left foot has a broken toenail.

Internal Examination


There is a fracture to the skull, and slight brain hemorrhaging.


The lungs were filled with water. A sample of the water is available. There were no apparent injuries to the lungs.


Stomach contents reveal a meal of spaghetti and meatballs, one breadstick, as well as black forest cake. Water was also found in the stomach. There were no apparent injuries to the stomach.

All other organs looked completely normal, and had nothing noteworthy about them.
